About us

Up until 22 February 2024, our association’s name was: “Friends of Baddawi Camp” (FBCA).

Our Association was established in March 2018.

It is legally registered in NSW with all needed licenses to collect and distribute funds.

FBCA is run by a committee of 5 members. We hold an annual AGM and lodge all legal documentation with NSW Dept of Fair Trading every year.

Why Baddawi camp

Baddawi Camp is a Palestinian Refugee Camp in North Lebanon since 1957. It’s a place where thousands of people suffer as they are severely disadvantaged. Our mission is to support the people of Baddawi Camp and help them face the dire situation they’re in for years.

In Baddawi Camp, we strived over the years up until now (FEB 2024), to achieve our mission through many projects. These include:

  1. Sponsoring orphans. (Currently we sponsor 60 orphans)
  2. Supporting single mothers with fatherless children. (Currently we support 10 mothers)
  3. Help pay house rents for those families threatened to be thrown in the streets. (15 families)
  4. Help the chronically sick (prescriptions, tests, diagnosis, hospitalization…etc)- 60 cases a month on average.
  5. Offer financial support to the elderly, divorced women, and disabled adults.
  6. Provide Pre-schooling and Kindergarten education to children of ages between 3-5 years who come from extremely poor families. In late 2019 we bought a building which is now utilized as a Childcare Centre where we cater for 100 children and employ 6 female teachers. It is called “Yafa Kinder”.
  7. Every Ramadan we provide food packages to 700 families/individuals, offer Eid cash money to 100 extremely poor families, and buy Eid clothes for 100 poor children.

Alhamdulil-Allah…

Change of name

In February 2024, and due to the war, that is taking place in Palestine, we opted to change our association’s name to: PALESTINIAN ZAKAT HOUSE (PZH).

The purpose behind the change was to widen our Humanitarian operating theatre to

cover people living in Palestine and Palestinians living in Refugee Camps run by the UN in the

Middle East with a focus on Gaza and Lebanon.

Funds we collect:

Our association accepts all sort of donations including Zakat Mal, Zakat Fitr,

normal “Sadaqa” and usual donations.

All funds collected goes entirely to offer humanitarian help to Palestinians as mentioned above.
